An easy way to save money on your taxes is to prepare your tax return yourself.  There are many tax preparation software packages on the market, but my personal favorite is absolutely free.  I have been using TaxAct for years and I cannot recommend it enough.

TaxAct walks you through a series of questions, saves all of your answers, and populates your return.  At the end of the interview you have the option to print a paper return to mail to the IRS or to submit your return electronically (e-file) to the IRS.
